Commercial Technology & Media Lawyer – Bristol
Prestigious Top 50 law firm are looking for a talented lawyer with strong commercial, tech, media, IP, and data protection expertise to join their growing Bristol team. The successful candidate will work on complex, high-value projects with clients ranging from global blue chips to fast-moving start-ups across cutting-edge sectors such as AI, fintech, life sciences, gaming, and digital media.
What you\’ll do:

  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of contracts including collaboration, licensing, supply, and distribution agreements.
  • Advise on IP protection, exploitation, licensing, and technology transfer.
  • Support clients in tech, media, and telecoms on major projects such as outsourcing, system development, and software procurement.
  • Provide data protection and GDPR compliance advice to tech-driven businesses handling large volumes of personal data.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to business development and marketing initiatives.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the UK and internationally on cross-border matters.

What we\’re looking for:

  • Strong commercial law background with knowledge of IP, IT, tech, gaming, and data protection issues.
  • 4+ years\’ PQE (flexible for the right experience).
  • Proven ability to manage your own caseload and assist on complex, high-value transactions.
  • Excellent drafting skills, commercial judgment, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working directly with clients in a city, major regional, or leading international firm (or in-house equivalent).
