A well established and highly regarded regional law firm is seeking a Junior or Newly Qualified Commercial Property Solicitor to join its respected Commercial Property team. The department, along with several of its leading individuals, is ranked in both Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, offering an excellent platform for early career development.
The Role
You will manage a varied caseload under appropriate supervision within a busy and supportive team. Work will include a broad range of commercial property matters for a diverse client base, including:
- Freehold sales and purchases
- Option agreements and overage deeds
- Commercial leases for offices, retail units and industrial premises (acting for both landlords and tenants)
- Advising banks and financial institutions on secured lending
- Advising developers on residential and commercial development sites, including plot sales
- Acting for local authorities and public sector bodies under the WGCD framework
- Property portfolio management
- Providing corporate support and litigation support
You will also draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial property documents, including:
- Sale and purchase contracts
- Transfer deeds
- Option and overage agreements
- Commercial leases
- Legal charges
- Development agreements
- Collateral warranties
- s106, s104, s278 and s38 agreements
Additional responsibilities include:
- Investigating and analysing complex titles and preparing clear reports on title
- Assisting senior solicitors within the team
- Participating in business development, including attending events and writing articles
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong academics, a positive attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for developing a career in commercial property. You will bring:
- Junior or Newly Qualified Solicitor level experience
- Strong organisational skills and excellent time management
- Technical competence and commercial awareness
- Clear communication skills and confidence liaising with clients, agents, surveyors and colleagues
- The ability to resolve property issues efficiently and cost effectively
- The ability to work independently with appropriate supervision
- A strong work ethic and enthusiasm for long term development within the team
