This is an exceptional opportunity for a senior commercial property lawyer to step into a leadership role and head up a well established Commercial Property team within a highly respected Bristol practice. You'll be based in the firm's Clifton office, joining an award winning department with an existing caseload and strong support structure already in place.
The Role
You will lead the commercial property offering, working closely with senior solicitors, an associate and a paralegal, while managing a varied and high quality caseload. The work will span the full breadth of commercial property matters, including:
- Acquisitions and disposals of freehold and leasehold property
- Landlord and Tenant matters - new leases, assignments and renewals
- Supporting development projects, including lease schemes, overage and option agreements
- Providing commercial property input on corporate transactions
- Advising on property issues arising in litigation matters
You’ll be supported at director level, with the autonomy to shape the department’s growth and direction. The role is offered on a full time basis, with flexibility around hybrid working and the potential to explore a shorter working week.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will bring:
- At least 5 years' PQE in commercial property
- Strong technical expertise
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clients and external professionals
- Confidence managing a busy caseload and handling complex matters
- A collaborative approach when supervising and supporting junior team members
You should also be keen to develop your business development skills, working alongside the marketing team to help shape the department's strategy and build new sources of work.
