A highly regarded national Regulatory team is seeking an experienced Advocate to join its Cardiff office. Recognised by Chambers and Legal 500, the team advises a wide range of professional regulators and individuals across sectors including law, healthcare, social care, accountancy and education. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's leading regulatory practices, working on high profile, meaningful cases that protect the public and shape regulatory standards.

The Role

  • You will undertake a broad range of advocacy and advisory work, appearing before regulatory tribunals and courts across England and Wales, including the High Court.
  • Presenting cases at interim order hearings, reviews and fully contested trials
  • Preparing hearing documentation including skeleton arguments and opening notes
  • Advising on the progression and management of regulatory investigations
  • Drafting and approving allegations for regulatory tribunals
  • Providing wider regulatory advice and contributing to policy development
  • Potential to develop a practice as a legal adviser to regulatory panels

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualification as a solicitor, barrister or CILEX advocate
  • Minimum 1 year's experience conducting contested and uncontested hearings in a regulatory or fitness to practise context
  • Strong technical expertise and analytical ability
  • Excellent advocacy skills and confidence appearing before tribunals and courts
  • A collaborative, team focused approach
  • Strong client care skills and the ability to manage your own caseload
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and regulatory work
