A respected national law firm is seeking a Solicitor with 2+ years PQE and experience in Court of Protection welfare law to join its Public Law & Human Rights team in Cardiff. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives, safeguarding the rights of vulnerable individuals and ensuring their voices are heard in complex decisions about health, care, and personal welfare.

Role

You’ll be responsible for managing your own caseload, supervising junior colleagues, and contributing to the continued growth and reputation of a nationally recognised department. Key responsibilities include:

  • Representing clients in disputes over medical treatment
  • Advising on residence and care arrangements
  • Handling best interests decisions
  • Supporting Partners and senior colleagues on complex matters
  • Building relationships with organisations and groups to strengthen client services
  • Contributing to the team's established reputation and growth

Candidate Requirements

  • Has 2+ years PQE in public law, human rights, or Court of Protection welfare matters
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm for this area of law and resilience under pressure
  • Can work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Is committed to securing justice and achieving the best outcomes for clients
  • Has a connection to Cardiff or South Wales
  • Shows empathy, professionalism, and integrity when working directly with vulnerable clients
