We are working with a well established, Legal 500 recognised commercial law firm who are looking to recruit an Employment Solicitor (2-5 PQE) to join their growing employment team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a varied, high quality caseload across the full spectrum of employment law. You'll be joining a supportive, collaborative team known for delivering clear, commercial advice to employers, HR professionals and senior executives. The role offers strong client contact, exposure to complex matters and genuine opportunities to develop your skills.
The Role
- You will work closely with senior lawyers while also managing your own matters, handling a broad mix of contentious and advisory employment work.
- This includes assisting with Employment Tribunal litigation from start to finish as well as advising on discrimination, whistleblowing, unfair and constructive dismissal, equal pay, breach of contract and redundancy disputes.
- Alongside this, you’ll draft and negotiate employment contracts, service agreements, policies and handbooks, support clients with disciplinary, grievance, performance and capability processes, assist with restructuring and redundancy exercises, advise on TUPE and due diligence for corporate transactions, and help conduct internal investigations involving grievance, disciplinary or whistleblowing issues.
- You will also provide clear, commercially focused advice to business owners, HR teams and senior management across a range of sectors.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor with 2-5 years' PQE in employment law.
- Experience across both contentious and non-contentious matters.
- Strong drafting skills, particularly contracts, policies and settlement agreements.
- Confident assisting with Tribunal litigation and managing matters with appropriate supervision.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Organised, proactive and able to manage competing deadlines.
- Calm, professional and able to handle sensitive or complex issues.
