A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Contentious Probate Solicitor to join a highly successful and growing team in Cardiff. This nationally recognised department is known for delivering high quality work, achieving excellent outcomes for clients, and maintaining a strong reputation across the UK. You will join a large, supportive team where you will be encouraged to develop your skills and progress your career. The team advises on a broad range of matters, including will, trust and estate disputes, Inheritance Act claims, challenges to will validity, breach of trust matters, and applications for the removal of executors or trustees.
With a consistently busy caseload, this role offers excellent exposure to varied, complex and high value work, including high net worth matters.
The Role
- Manage your own caseload of contentious probate matters
- Advise clients on will, trust and estate related disputes
- Handle Inheritance Act claims and challenges to will validity
- Assist with breach of trust matters and executor/trustee removal applications
- Work collaboratively within a large, supportive team
- Contribute to business development internally and externally
- Share knowledge and best practice across the team
- Progress matters efficiently while maintaining excellent client care
Candidate Requirements
- 0-4 years' PQE (applications welcome from those with relevant experience gained during training)
- Experience in contentious probate
- Strong technical ability and drafting skills
- Ability to manage client relationships effectively
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong IT proficiency
- Commercial awareness
- A proactive, ambitious and collaborative approach
