A well established and forward thinking regional law firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Associate Solicitor (5-8 years PQE) to join its highly regarded Probate team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a senior, influential role, managing a complex caseload while contributing to the strategic development of the department.

The Role

  • You will manage a broad and varied caseload, including:
    • Wills, estate planning and wealth preservation
    • Probate and estate administration (including complex and high value estates)
    • Trust creation, structuring and ongoing management
    • Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters
  • You will also:
    • Deliver clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice
    • Handle sensitive and complex matters with minimal supervision
    • Build and maintain long term client relationships
    • Supervise and mentor junior solicitors, trainees and support staff
    • Play an active role in business development and networking
    • Ensure full compliance with regulatory and professional standards
    • Contribute to the strategic growth of the Private Client department
    • Maintain meticulous file management, time recording and billing

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 5-8 years' PQE
  • Strong experience across wills, probate and trusts
  • STEP qualification (or working towards) highly desirable
  • Proven ability to manage a complex caseload independently
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience supervising junior team members
  • Demonstrable business development experience
  • Professional, organised and able to manage competing priorities
  • Collaborative, team focused approach
