A highly regarded law firm is seeking a Construction Associate to join its respected Cardiff team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a broad range of construction disputes, with scope to take on non-contentious and advisory work if of interest. You'll be joining a supportive, ambitious team with access to high quality national and international work.
The Role
- Managing a varied caseload of contentious construction, building and engineering disputes
- Advising clients on practical, cost effective solutions across all stages of dispute resolution
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, correspondence and key legal documents
- Handling complex regulatory and procedural issues with strong attention to detail
- Supporting other practice areas where relevant, including professional indemnity matters
- Contributing to business development through seminars, articles and client events
- Working collaboratively across disciplines to deliver high quality advice
Candidate Requirements
- 2+ years PQE in construction disputes or commercial litigation with an interest in construction
- Strong technical ability and willingness to develop specialist construction expertise
- Excellent drafting, analytical and problem solving skills
- Confidence managing contentious matters independently
- Strong communication and client handling skills
- A proactive, team focused approach
- Interest in business development and raising the profile of the team
