An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Lawyer to join a highly regarded Construction & Engineering team in Bristol. This role sits within a Top 50 UK law firm with a strong national presence, multiple offices across the UK and an excellent reputation in both the Legal 500 and Chambers rankings. The firm is known for handling high-quality, complex work, investing heavily in its people and offering a genuinely collaborative culture.
Working as part of a specialist construction team, you'll advise an impressive client base across both the public and private sectors, including developers, contractors, funders, local authorities, NHS Trusts, education providers and consultants.
The Role
- You'll play a key role in a busy and growing contentious construction practice, advising clients on:
- Adjudication, litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution
- Construction and engineering disputes across a range of sectors
- Project-related risk management and dispute avoidance
- Business development, networking and client relationship management
- Mentoring and developing junior lawyers
- Contributing to the continued growth and success of the team
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Associate seeking the next step or an established Legal Director looking to join a high-performing national practice.
Candidate Requirements
- Significant experience handling contentious construction matters
- Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
- Experience of adjudication, litigation and/or arbitration
- Understanding of ADR and dispute resolution strategies
- Strong client relationship and business development skills
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members
- Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills
