A highly regarded law firm in Bristol is seeking a Family Solicitor with practising rights to join its thriving Family department. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to work on a varied caseload, supporting clients through sensitive and often complex matters involving children and domestic abuse. The successful candidate will take ownership of both privately funded and publicly funded matters, with the opportunity to conduct their own advocacy and represent clients at court hearings. The role offers genuine responsibility, strong support, and the chance to make a meaningful difference in clients' lives.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing a caseload of private law children and domestic abuse cases
- Attending court hearings and undertaking advocacy, with or without counsel
- Drafting legal documents including statements, applications, and briefing counsel
- Communicating effectively with clients, experts, and professionals
This role would suit an experienced family lawyer with a strong background in legal aid work and CCMS. The ideal candidate will be organised, resilient, and empathetic, with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
