Due to continued growth and a strong reputation for handling complex, high-value claims, the team is looking to appoint a Senior Clinical Negligence Lawyer (6+ PQE). You'll work on a varied caseload of serious and high-profile matters within a well‑resourced, supportive environment. The Role
- You will manage your own caseload of complex clinical negligence claims, while also supporting on high‑value and maximum severity cases.
- The role will involve:
- Running pre-action and litigated clinical negligence matters
- Advising clients on funding options (CFA, legal aid, insurance)
- Drafting witness statements, pleadings, and court documents
- Instructing experts and Counsel
- Attending hearings, case management conferences, and inquests where required
- Supporting junior members of the team and contributing to complex case strategy
You'll also play a key role in the wider team, helping to strengthen client relationships, contribute to business development, and support the ongoing growth of the department.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Lawyer with 6+ years' PQE
- Strong experience handling complex clinical negligence caseloads
- Confident managing high-value, sensitive claims independently
- Excellent client care, communication, and drafting skills
- Commercial awareness and interest in team development
- Accreditation (Law Society, APIL or AvMA) advantageous but not essential
- IT literate and comfortable with case management systems
