A leading UK law firm is seeking a Real Estate Energy Associate to join its Tier 1 rated Energy & Infrastructure team in Bristol. This is an outstanding opportunity to work on nationally significant energy and infrastructure projects central to the UK's transition to net zero. You will support complex, first‑of‑a‑kind schemes across renewables, energy transition and major infrastructure delivery.
The Role
- Advising on real estate aspects of energy, renewables and infrastructure projects (onshore/offshore wind, solar, battery storage, hydrogen, EfW, heat networks, nuclear, EV charging, airports and ports).
- Drafting and negotiating key real estate documents including options, leases and development agreements.
- Leading title, access, land due diligence and site assembly work.
- Supporting major infrastructure consenting and delivery, including DCO and CPO schemes.
- Working directly with developers, landowners, investors, funders, public bodies and other stakeholders.
- Collaborating across real estate, planning, construction, corporate, regulatory and finance teams.
- Supervising junior lawyers and contributing to client relationship management.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified solicitor with 2+ years' PQE in commercial real estate.
- Experience in energy, renewables, infrastructure or major development work.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
- Commercial, solutions‑focused approach with the ability to keep projects moving.
- Curiosity about the energy transition and infrastructure delivery.
- Collaborative mindset and confidence working in multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Interest in business development, mentoring and wider team initiatives.
