A highly respected national law firm with one of the UK’s fastest growing Planning & Environment teams is seeking a Planning Senior Associate or Managing Associate (3‑8 years PQE) to join its expanding Bristol office. The firm’s multi‑disciplinary planning group is recognised for its depth of expertise, collaborative culture and involvement in major development projects across the country.
The Role
- Managing a varied and high quality caseload of planning matters, including:
- Drafting and negotiating Section 106 agreements, highways agreements and other statutory agreements
- Advising on planning, highways and associated regulatory law
- Supporting due diligence for property and corporate transactions
- Handling contentious planning work, including:
- Planning inquiries and hearings
- Judicial Reviews and statutory challenges
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified planning solicitor with 3-8 years PQE in planning law
- Experience in both advisory and contentious planning matters
- Strong drafting skills and technical understanding of planning legislation
- Excellent communication and client handling abilities
- Confident managing complex matters independently
- A proactive, organised and commercially minded approach
- Ability to work effectively within a multi‑disciplinary team
- Interest in large scale development and regeneration projects (desirable)
