A leading national law firm is seeking a Pensions Associate to join its highly respected and rapidly expanding Pensions team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high profile matters from day one, developing your expertise across the full spectrum of pensions law - including both contentious and non-contentious work, and advising clients across the private and public sectors.

The Role

  • Advising employers, trustees and public bodies on a wide range of pensions matters, including:
    • Risk reduction and transfer exercises (buy ins, buyouts, alternative funding arrangements)
    • PPF assessment periods, scheme rescues and high profile insolvencies
    • Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) matters across England and Wales
    • Corporate transactions, scheme mergers, restructurings and wind ups
    • Complex pensions litigation, including professional negligence and Part 8 claims
    • Supporting trustee operations and governance matters
    • Building strong client relationships and contributing to business development
    • Working collaboratively within a diverse, approachable and nationally integrated team

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor with meaningful hands-on experience in non-contentious pensions work
  • Strong technical knowledge across the areas outlined above
  • Excellent communication and client handling skills
  • A commercial, pragmatic and solutions focused approach
  • Ability to manage matters with appropriate autonomy
  • Interest in developing business development skills
