Defendant Insurance Senior Associate / Legal Director β Bristol
Location: Bristol (Hybrid)

Salary: Β£70,000 β Β£95,000 (depending on experience)
A leading national commercial law firm is seeking an experienced Defendant Insurance Senior Associate or Legal Director to join its Litigation, Advisory & Regulatory department in Bristol. Consistently ranked in The Law Firms and highly rated in Chambers & Partners and Legal 500, the firm continues to deliver year on year revenue and profit growth. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, expanding team acting for high profile public and private sector clients.
The Role
- Manage a caseload of high value, multi-track personal injury and property damage claims
- Defend claims for insurers, local authorities and public sector bodies
- Handle complex liability issues and coverage disputes
- Work closely with partner leads and colleagues across the national office network
- Supervise and support junior lawyers within the team
- Manage your own matters with autonomy while delegating effectively
- Contribute to the continued growth and development of the department
This is a key opportunity to join a nationally recognised litigation team acting for clients delivering essential public services.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Strong experience handling high value personal injury and property damage claims
- Experience acting for insurers and/or public sector clients
- Ability to manage complex caseloads independently
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues
- Excellent client management skills with a commercial, pragmatic approach
- Collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for business development
Desirable
- Experience handling disease claims
- Prior involvement in coverage disputes
- Interest in contributing to wider departmental initiatives
