Chadwick Nott are instructed on an excellent opportunity with a Top 100 national law firm seeking an Associate (3+ PQE) to join their highly regarded Construction team. This is a chance to work on major disputes across the construction and energy sectors from their Bristol office.
Responsibilities
- Payment disputes, delays and defects
- Professional negligence claims
- Contract management and dispute mitigation strategies
- Adjudication, litigation, arbitration, mediation and other ADR
- Advising on a wide range of construction and energy projects, including commercial development, utilities, renewables, residential and facilities management
- Working on matters that have featured in reported cases
- Close collaboration with colleagues across Real Estate, Corporate, Commercial and Planning
Requirements
- Strong experience running construction disputes day to day
- A solid grounding in adjudication and the court litigation process
- Familiarity with JCT and NEC contracts and commonly used professional appointments
- Experience across a range of construction related claims, including adjudications, arbitrations and expert determinations
- Excellent communication skills and a commercial, pragmatic approach
- The ability to manage complex matters, advise directly on strategy and work collaboratively under pressure
