An opportunity has arisen for a technically strong and commercially aware Commercial Litigation Solicitor or FCILEx to join a specialist contract disputes team handling complex claimant and defendant matters.
The role will involve managing a varied caseload of technically challenging disputes, including commercial and consumer contracts, misrepresentation, professional negligence and building disputes. Work is sourced from a mix of insurer-backed and private clients, offering a broad and interesting workload.
You will take full responsibility for a personal caseload of approximately 25-40 matters, including day-to-day client management, while also supervising and supporting a small number of junior case handlers.
The position requires a proactive and strategic approach to litigation, alongside strong technical ability. Candidates should have demonstrable experience handling complex contract-based claims, with the ability to apply legal principles across a wide range of matters.
Experience supervising junior colleagues, managing costs (including detailed assessment), and working with a variety of clients and stakeholders is essential. A collaborative mindset, strong commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving are key.
Experience working with insurance-backed clients and involvement in business development would be advantageous. This is a flexible opportunity with office locations in Leeds, Bristol and Cardiff, as well as the option for home working.
