A leading national law firm is seeking an Associate with 2-5 years' post qualification experience to join its highly regarded Professional & Financial Risks (PFR) team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a top ranked professional indemnity practice acting for major insurers and large professional services firms, with exposure to high value, complex and varied work.
The Role
- Defending insurance broker negligence claims
- Acting for brokers in commercial disputes, including commission related issues
- Handling claims ranging from tens of thousands to multi million pound matters
- Advising on regulatory issues, risk management and policy coverage
- Managing pre-litigation and litigated claims
- Liaising with clients, insurers, brokers and other stakeholders
- Supporting business development and contributing to team initiatives
- Maintaining high professional standards, client service and compliance
Candidate Requirements
- 2-5 years PQE, ideally with experience in broker negligence claims
- Strong litigation experience (insurance experience desirable but not essential)
- Excellent technical, analytical and drafting skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work efficiently, commercially and with strong financial awareness
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to team culture
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal IT systems
- Motivation, resilience and a proactive approach to client service
