A well established regional law firm is seeking a Private Client Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join its busy and respected Private Client Department in Bridgend. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a broad and rewarding private client practice within a supportive, progressive and friendly team.

The Role

  • You’ll be responsible for managing a broad range of private client matters, including:
    • Wills
    • Lasting Powers of Attorney
    • Probate and estate administration
    • Professional executor and full estate administration work
    • Trusts (where appropriate)
    • Court of Protection matters (where appropriate)
    • Exposure to estate disputes and contentious probate (depending on experience and interest)
    • Handling both straightforward and more complex matters with appropriate supervision
    • Working collaboratively with solicitors, trainees and support staff

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in wills, LPAs and probate
  • Strong client care skills and a sensitive, professional approach
  • Good drafting, organisation and file management skills
  • Confidence managing files with appropriate supervision
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a close knit team
  • Sound judgment and awareness of when to escalate technical or sensitive issues
  • Interest in developing a broader private client practice
  • STEP qualification, TEP status or willingness to work towards STEP (highly desirable)
