An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor, Associate or Senior Associate to join a friendly and supportive Residential Property team in Bath. Following another highly successful year, the team has achieved over 30% revenue growth and is now expanding to build on this momentum. You will join a large, high performing team and manage your own varied and interesting caseload, supported by the depth of experience within the largest Residential Property team in the city. The role can be tailored to your aspirations, whether you bring an existing client/referrer base or are at an earlier stage in your career. Caseload complexity and any specialist areas can be shaped around your experience and goals.
This is a primarily office based role, with three to four days per week spent in the firm's central Bath office, reflecting the team's strong emphasis on collaboration, approachability, and close working relationships.
The Team
The Bath Residential Property team consists of more than 20 people, many of whom have been with the firm for several years - a testament to the supportive, close knit culture. The team works alongside the Agricultural department, offering opportunities to broaden your skills in rural property matters. With over 80 people across the wider Residential Property Business Unit, there are extensive opportunities for knowledge sharing, training, mentoring, and career development. Work is typically structured in sub teams (senior fee earner, junior fee earner/paralegal, and assistants), though traditional one to one support models also exist.
The Role
- Managing your own caseload of residential property transactions
- Using technology to deliver an end to end digital conveyancing service
- Providing high quality, commercially astute legal advice
- Handling a variety of transactional matters efficiently
- Taking direct client instructions and building strong relationships
- Working closely with partners to deliver tailored solutions
- Scoping and pricing work accurately with appropriate supervision
- Developing your own client relationships with partner support
- Growing your profile as a respected Residential Property lawyer
- Leading and contributing to business development initiatives
- Building and nurturing a network of clients, contacts, and referrers
- Identifying cross selling opportunities across the firm
- Participating in team and sector pitches
- Maintaining accurate time recording, WIP monitoring, and billing
- Working towards individual and team KPIs aligned with firmwide goals
Candidate Requirements
- Qualification as a Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, or CILEx
- Previous experience within a Residential Property team
- Strong client and project management skills
- A commitment to delivering excellent client service
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
- A proactive approach to business development
- A collaborative mindset and comfort working within a supportive team
