A highly regarded national law firm is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Tier 1 ranked Education team in Bath. This is an exceptional opportunity to work with a high calibre client base, lead on complex matters, and contribute to the continued growth of a nationally recognised Education practice.

The Role

  • You'll take a senior role within the Education team, managing a sophisticated caseload and contributing to strategic development.
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Leading on complex corporate and education M&A transactions
    • Managing matters independently with strong financial discipline (time recording, billing, cost awareness)
    • Supervising, mentoring, and developing junior team members
    • Building and maintaining strong client relationships to generate new and repeat work
    • Driving business development through seminars, networking, pitches, and thought leadership
    • Identifying new markets, service lines, and growth opportunities
    • Ensuring high standards of service delivery, compliance, and professional conduct
    • Working collaboratively across teams and contributing to a collegiate culture
    • Staying up to date with legal developments and continuing professional development

Candidate Requirements

  • This role is suited to an experienced lawyer with:
    • Strong experience in corporate or education M&A
    • Proven ability to supervise and develop junior colleagues
    • A track record of proactive business development and revenue generation
    • Excellent communication skills, including handling challenging conversations with confidence
    • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage complex projects independently
    • High levels of accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail
    • A solutions focused, commercially aware mindset
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a high performing team

Desirable:

  • Experience in Education Law and/or Charity Law
