A nationally recognised law firm is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate (3-6 years PQE) to join its highly regarded Planning & Environmental team in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to work on major infrastructure projects and complex development matters within a practice ranked in Chambers and Legal 500.

The Role

  • You'll be responsible for advising on a diverse range of planning and infrastructure matters, including:
    • Development Consent Orders for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects
    • Infrastructure consenting regimes and examination processes
    • Town and Country Planning Act matters, including applications, appeals and development strategy
    • Negotiating section 106 agreements, highways agreements and related documentation
    • Providing planning support on corporate, real estate, energy and infrastructure transactions
    • Working collaboratively across the wider Transactional Property Group
    • Building strong client relationships and acting as a trusted adviser
    • Supporting business development and contributing to the growth of the practice
    • Sharing knowledge and supporting junior colleagues

Candidate Requirements

  • Approximately 3-6 years PQE (flexible for strong candidates)
  • Experience advising on DCOs, ICOs and/or major infrastructure consenting regimes
  • Strong Town and Country Planning Act experience
  • Experience in energy, transport, utilities or regeneration sectors (advantageous)
  • Environmental law experience (beneficial but not essential)
  • Strong drafting, analytical and technical skills
  • Commercial, pragmatic and solutions focused approach
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Enthusiasm for business development and team collaboration
