A leading national practice is seeking an Associate to join its highly regarded Restructuring & Insolvency team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a collegiate, supportive and commercially focused team advising on complex stressed and distressed situations across a broad range of stakeholders.
The Role
- You'll work across both contentious and non-contentious restructuring and insolvency matters, supporting partners on high profile domestic and cross border mandates.
- Your work will include:
- Advising corporate debtors, lenders, sponsors, distressed investors and insolvency practitioners
- Working on complex, strategic and time critical restructuring matters
- Supporting advisory, transactional and contentious instructions
- Handling matters involving financing, security and restructuring documentation
- Working closely with leading restructuring accountants and turnaround professionals
- Supporting cross border matters through collaboration with international offices
- Contributing to high value work across sectors including retail, financial services, digital business, energy, renewables, real estate and infrastructure
Candidate Requirements
- This role is suited to a motivated restructuring lawyer with:
- 2-5 years' PQE (flexible for strong candidates)
- Experience in restructuring, insolvency and/or special situations
- Interest in working across both contentious and non-contentious matters
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to deliver practical, strategic advice
- Confidence working on complex, fast moving matters
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational abilities and initiative
- A collaborative, entrepreneurial and solutions focused mindset
