A respected national law firm is seeking an Employment Associate with 4+ years' PQE to join its growing Employment team in Plymouth. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive, ambitious and nationally recognised practice, handling a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment work.

The Role

  • Managing a varied caseload of employment matters, including:
    • Employment tribunal litigation and advocacy preparation
    • Advising employer clients on HR issues including disciplinary, grievance and redundancy
    • Drafting contracts, policies, handbooks and settlement agreements
    • Supporting corporate transactions with employment related due diligence
    • Advising on employment related data protection matters
    • Working with clients across retail & consumer, charity, developer, energy and infrastructure sectors
    • Supporting business development, seminars and networking
    • Maintaining high professional standards and compliance

Candidate Requirements

  • 4+ years' PQE in employment law
  • A minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree
  • Strong technical and drafting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Confidence managing tribunal matters independently
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Motivation, organisation and a proactive mindset
  • Interest in business development and contributing to team growth
  • Ability to work collaboratively across a national team
