A fantastic opening has arisen for a Private Client Solicitor to join a friendly, well established team in Abergavenny. You'll be working alongside highly experienced colleagues, including full STEP members and a CTA-qualified solicitor, giving you the perfect environment to build strong foundations early in your career. Support toward full STEP qualification is actively encouraged.
The Role
You'll play an integral part in a busy, supportive department, gaining hands on experience across a broad range of private client matters, including:
- Drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Estate administration and probate
- Trust creation and ongoing trust management
- Inheritance tax and estate planning advice
- Court of Protection and deputyship work (depending on experience)
- Assisting senior fee earners with more complex matters
Expect regular client contact, meaningful responsibility, and the chance to develop long term relationships within the local community.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Newly qualified or up to 3 years' PQE (trainees approaching qualification are welcome)
- Able to demonstrate some exposure to private client work, whether through a training seat or post qualification experience
- A confident communicator with a client centred approach
- Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing competing priorities
- A collaborative team player with a genuine appetite to learn
- Professional, empathetic, and capable of handling sensitive issues with care
