We are working with a leading regional law firm in its search for a Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join its highly regarded Medical Negligence team in Swansea. The firm has built a strong reputation for delivering expert legal advice with a client-focused approach and continues to invest in the growth and development of its specialist claimant practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor or someone with up to two years' PQE looking to establish or further develop a career in clinical negligence.

You'll join a supportive and collaborative team, handling your own cases while gaining exposure to complex and high-value claims alongside experienced specialists.

The Role

As a Clinical Negligence Solicitor, you will work with clients who have suffered injury as a result of negligent medical treatment, providing compassionate and practical advice throughout the claims process. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing your own caseload of clinical negligence matters under appropriate supervision
  • Assisting senior lawyers on complex and high-value claims
  • Liaising with clients, medical experts, counsel and healthcare providers
  • Preparing cases for settlement negotiations and court proceedings
  • Drafting legal documents, witness statements and correspondence
  • Building strong client relationships and delivering an exceptional client experience

The caseload is likely to include a range of claims involving delays in diagnosis, surgical errors, birth injuries, treatment failures, medication errors and other healthcare-related negligence matters.

Candidate Requirements

Applications are encouraged from solicitors with up to two years' post-qualification experience who can demonstrate a genuine interest in claimant clinical negligence work. You will ideally have:

  • Qualified Solicitor status in England & Wales
  • Experience in clinical negligence, personal injury or litigation gained through a training contract, previous role or work placement
  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • Strong drafting and analytical abilities
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to prioritise a varied workload and manage competing deadlines
