A growing and forward thinking law firm is seeking an Employment Associate to join its friendly, high performing Employment Law team. The firm operates as a law firm with an in house feel, collaborative, commercially minded and closely connected to the clients it supports. The Team
- Advising employees on unfair dismissal, unpaid wages and discrimination claims
- Defending employers in whistleblowing, discrimination and complex tribunal matters
- Managing both contentious and non contentious employment work
- Providing HR advisory services, including drafting contracts, policies and handbooks
- Supporting businesses through employment law compliance and best practice guidance
The Role
As an Employment Associate, you will manage a varied caseload from initial instruction through to conclusion. Work will include:
- Advising on settlement agreements
- Drafting and negotiating settlement terms
- Drafting employment contracts, handbooks and workplace policies
- Handling contentious and non contentious employment matters
- Providing clear, practical advice to both employees and employers
- Ensuring efficient, high quality case handling in line with regulatory and internal processes
About You
The firm is keen to hear from candidates with strong experience in Employment Litigation who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience in both contentious and non contentious employment work (essential)
- Strong working knowledge of employment law and tribunal procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, organised approach to managing your caseload
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, KPIs and SLAs
- Strong client care skills and a collaborative working style
- Understanding of the SRA Code of Conduct
- Interest in business development (desirable)
Working Pattern & Flexibility
The firm offers genuine flexibility and supports a healthy work life balance:
- Full time or part time hours
- Hybrid working (minimum 2 days per week in Bristol or Bedwas if commutable)
- Fully remote considered for candidates outside a reasonable commuting distance
