Chadwick Nott are instructed on a standout opportunity for an experienced contentious construction lawyer to join an award winning, Top 50 UK law firm with one of the most highly regarded Construction & Engineering practices in the country. The team is consistently recognised as Tier 1 in Legal 500 and Band 1 in Chambers UK, acting on major national and international projects across energy, utilities, transport, infrastructure and real estate.

The Role

This is a senior hire within a market leading Construction & Engineering team, offering the chance to work at the forefront of complex, high value construction disputes. You will collaborate with leading experts across the firm's offices and take on a key role in the continued growth of the contentious offering. Your work will span:

  • Litigation in the Technology & Construction Court
  • Adjudications
  • Domestic and international arbitration
  • Pre Action Protocol matters
  • Strategic troubleshooting and advisory work throughout the project lifecycle
  • Mediation, expert determination and other industry specific procedures

You’ll have genuine responsibility, client contact and the opportunity to further develop your own client relationships as you step into a senior, visible position within the team.

Candidate Requirements

  • 8+ PQE in contentious construction
  • Strong track record handling complex, high value disputes
  • Confident across a broad range of dispute resolution methods
  • Ability to manage a demanding and varied caseload with autonomy
  • Experience supervising or developing junior lawyers
  • Comfortable contributing to business development and client relationship growth
  • Must be a qualified solicitor in England & Wales or Scotland
