I’m recruiting on behalf of a leading national law firm for a Solicitor to join their established Medical Negligence team, with flexibility to be based in either Sheffield or Nottingham. This is a great opportunity to work on a broad range of complex clinical negligence cases within one of the UK’s most respected claimant practices.
The Role
You’ll manage your own caseload from the outset while also supporting senior lawyers on high‑value matters. The team handles a wide variety of complex and sensitive cases, including:
- Fatal claims
- Gynaecology cases
- Delayed cancer diagnosis
- Surgical injuries
- Spinal injury cases
- Orthopaedic claims
- Birth injury and cerebral palsy cases
Your work will include:
- Taking client instructions and providing clear, empathetic legal advice
- Running your own caseload of clinical negligence matters
- Assisting Partners and senior solicitors on high‑value and complex claims
- Seeking interim payments to support client rehabilitation and care
- Reviewing cases with supervisors to ensure quality and consistency
About You
- 4–6 years PQE in medical negligence
- Experience handling complex clinical negligence matters
- Strong commercial awareness
- Able to work independently and collaboratively
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment
- Able to attend the Sheffield office 1–2 days per week (or Nottingham with visits to Sheffield)
