Our client is a dynamic international ports business which is a key hub for international trade, seeking to recruit a Legal Counsel with a minimum of 5 years PQE to join their team in London. This is a 12-month FTC, with potential for the role to become permanent. You must be a UK qualified Solicitor with the right to work.
Client: International ports sector. Over 30,000 employees, operating ports and terminals in 26 countries in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, the Americas and Australasia.
Role: As a key part of the in-house legal team, the Legal Counsel will focus on corporate/commercial projects as part of a broad and varied workload. You are also likely to support on technology, ESG, property, disputes and certain regulatory and governance issues. You will interact with business teams across Europe and North Africa, including in Rotterdam, Barcelona, Felixstowe and Alexandria, and you will have great scope to contribute to the evolution of the European legal function.
Candidate: Minimum five years’ experience as a practising lawyer, preferably initially with a prominent national law firm before moving to an in-house position. Experience in corporate, commercial, projects or infrastructure is essential. Experience in regulatory, governance, disputes or property is advantageous.
