An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Employment Associate to join a highly regarded Employment & HR team based in Bristol. This is a varied role offering exposure to a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment work where you will advise a diverse portfolio of employer clients, ranging from SMEs to larger national businesses.
Working as part of a well-established national team, you will handle:
- Employment Tribunal litigation from initial instruction through to final hearing
- Complex and high-value employment disputes
- Day-to-day HR and employment law advisory work
- Disciplinary, grievance and performance management matters
- Redundancy and restructuring projects
- Discrimination and employee relations issues
- Drafting and reviewing contracts of employment, policies and staff handbooks
- Settlement agreements and exit negotiations
- Employment-related data protection matters
- Corporate support and transactional employment work where required
Candidate Requirements
We are keen to hear from qualified Solicitors with at least 4 years' PQE gained within a recognised employment practice. You will ideally have:
- Strong experience advising employer clients across a broad spectrum of employment law matters
- Experience managing Employment Tribunal claims from inception to conclusion
- Confidence handling disclosure exercises, witness statements and case preparation
- Excellent technical knowledge across contentious and advisory employment law work
- Experience drafting contracts, policies, handbooks and settlement agreements
- Strong drafting, communication and relationship-building skills
- Proven ability to manage your own caseload effectively
- An interest in business development and growing client relationships
- Experience supporting corporate transactions and business transfers would be advantageous but is not essential.
