A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal / Case Handler to join its specialist Catastrophic Injury team in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high‑value, life‑changing cases while developing your expertise within a supportive and well‑structured environment.
The role
- Work closely with Senior Case Handlers on complex and catastrophic injury matters, including brain injuries, spinal injuries, fatal claims and serious polytrauma.
- Manage delegated tasks to progress high‑value files, including liability investigations, medical evidence gathering, liaising with courts and counsel, arranging conferences, and organising treatment or case‑management payments.
- Ensure full compliance with agreed service standards.
- Communicate effectively with senior colleagues, clients, opponents and insurer partners.
- Participate in weekly team meetings.
- Attend networking and business development events.
- Handle administrative duties as required.
- Supervise a junior case handling assistant.
Experience & skills required
- At least 2 years' experience in a similar Paralegal role.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise urgent tasks.
- Confidence using case management systems and the ability to produce your own typing and bundles.
- Experience running your own litigated caseload.
- Excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset and the ability to work to deadlines.
- A collaborative, common‑sense approach with the ability to manage expectations of both internal and external stakeholders.
