A top-tier international law firm, consistently recognised by the Legal 500 for the strength of its Corporate practice, is seeking a Corporate Associate (2–5 years PQE) to join its highly regarded Private Markets team in Bristol. The team sits at the heart of the firm’s Corporate offering and advises on sophisticated, often cross-border private M&A and private equity transactions. With a strong international footprint and access to market-leading specialists across tax, finance, regulatory and competition, this is an exceptional environment for ambitious associates looking to accelerate their development.

The Role

  • Advising on a broad range of high-value corporate transactions, including:
    • Private M&A (acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures)
    • Drafting and negotiating SPAs, investment agreements and shareholders’ agreements
    • Managing and supporting due diligence processes
    • Advising on transaction structuring, legal risk and commercial strategy
    • Leading discrete workstreams and coordinating with specialist teams across the firm
    • Supporting partners with client relationship development and business development initiatives
    • Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers where appropriate

Candidate Requirements

  • 2–5 years PQE gained at a leading UK or international firm
  • Strong experience in Private M&A, with exposure to Private Equity work highly advantageous
  • Excellent drafting skills and strong commercial awareness
  • Experience managing transactional workstreams with appropriate supervision
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong internal and external relationships
