A leading international law firm is seeking a PA to join its Litigation team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a full-time position working 35 hours per week, 4 of which will be office-based.

Responsibilities

  • Building an understanding of fee earners' work and developing strong relationships with clients and client PAs
  • Managing diaries, meetings, conference calls and travel arrangements
  • Organising and prioritising workload, acting on initiative and communicating progress
  • Handling enquiries, resolving or escalating as appropriate
  • Producing accurate and complex documents, including audio dictation and document comparisons
  • Maintaining filing systems, e‑filing, archiving and opening new matters
  • Supporting the billing process in 3E, preparing bills and maintaining accurate records
  • Liaising with the billing team and responding to internal and external billing queries
  • Taking detailed telephone messages
  • Sharing knowledge and building strong internal and external working relationships
  • Providing cover for colleagues and assisting with wider team administration
  • Undertaking ad hoc duties as required

  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence interacting at all levels

  • Flexibility with occasional overtime

Skills and experience

  • Previous legal PA experience
  • Excellent secretarial skills and fast, accurate typing
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • High-quality document production skills
  • Billing experience (3E preferred)
  • Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Advanced MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience using BigHand or similar workflow tools
