A respected regional law firm is seeking an experienced Children Law specialist to join its team in Sheffield. This role requires at least 3 years' experience in Children Law and offers the opportunity to work across both private and public matters.
The role:
- Advise and represent clients in private and public Children Law matters, including domestic abuse cases
- Handle both private‑paying and legal aid work
- Conduct advocacy in and out of court
- Depending on experience, support the management of the Children Department, including file reviews, 1‑2‑1s and appraisals
- Manage files using a case management system (training provided)
- Assist colleagues within the department when required
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships through networking
About You:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Childcare Law department
- Children Panel Accreditation
- Experience supervising or managing people
- Strong IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills
- Highly organised with strong file and diary management
- Proactive, positive and able to use initiative
- Full UK driving licence
- Knowledge of Legal Aid regulations and procedures
Desirable:
- Experience using Proclaim CMS
- Membership of the Children Panel
- Resolution membership with domestic abuse specialism
