The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.

Our new member of staff will work 16-20 hours per week. The post hours are a variety of morning, afternoon or evening shifts, but include a late shift on a Friday until 19:30. By applying to the role you accept that this includes a late shift on a Friday. You will need to be able to provide cover at short and long‑term notice to cover staff absences. This may mean changing your hours for that week. You will have an excellent attendance record, be a good timekeeper, able to work under pressure and enjoy working as part of a team. Previous experience is advantageous but not essential.

Main duties of the job:

  • Front of house reception, managing patient queries and requests.
  • Appointment book and recalls.
  • Document management and medical administrative duties.

About us:

We are a friendly busy practice serving over 7,000 patients. Our Primary Health Care team includes 7 GPs, 1 Advanced Practitioner, 1 Paramedic, 1 Practice Nurse, 1 NA, 1 HCA, First Contact Physio Practitioners, Pharmacists and Health and Wellbeing counsellors. We have an active group of Practice Champions to support our patients. Our last CQC inspection (October 2016) was "good with some outstanding features". We encourage learning and we offer training and support to all our staff. We have monthly staff meetings and twice‑yearly away days.

Job responsibilities:

  • Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
  • Provide general assistance to the doctors and practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 GCSEs or equivalent in English and maths.
  • Computer / IT experience and good working knowledge.
  • Customer Service or Healthcare experience is required.
  • Experience of EMIS, DOCMAN, ACCURX, NHS Email, Clinical Coding, Medical terminology.
