As a Multi-Platform Producer in CGTN Europe’s Output team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality journalism to a global audience across TV and digital platforms. The team produces flagship news programmes including The World Today and Global Business Europe, as well as leading on special coverage, original segments and major event programming.
In this role, you will take ownership of news stories from pitch to publication, working closely with Executive Producers and Line Producers to shape coverage and bring ideas to life. This is a fast-paced, hands-on position for a TV journalist who is equally comfortable producing for digital, creating compelling content and adapting storytelling for different audiences and platforms - with the opportunity to develop your skills across a global newsroom.
Key Responsibilities- Pitch, write and produce stories and features for broadcast and digital platforms.
- Take ownership of content from idea through to delivery, working closely with Executive Producers, News Editors, Line Producers and production teams.
- Demonstrate strong editorial judgement, with the ability to explain complex business, economic and geopolitical stories clearly and accessibly.
- Edit video and work confidently with newsroom systems and rundowns.
- Produce accurate, well-written copy, ensuring all content meets editorial standards and deadlines.
- Monitor news developments and respond quickly to breaking stories.
- Create and adapt content for digital and social platforms, using the latest tools and formats.
- Support the Output team across a range of editorial functions, with flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as required in line with business needs.
- Be able to work irregular hours and an extended schedule as the news cycle demands.
- Contribute positively within a diverse, international newsroom environment.
- A strong storyteller, able to produce engaging content across TV and digital platforms.

- Degree in Journalism, Communications or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a newsroom environment, ideally with an international focus.
- Strong knowledge of global news, particularly Europe and Asia.
- Proven experience in video editing and scriptwriting.
- A good understanding of media law, editorial standards and journalistic ethics.
- Experience using social media as both a reporting tool and a publishing platform.
