Job Purpose
To oversee civil and marine construction works at London Gateway Port, ensuring safe, efficient delivery in line with CGR’s standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise on-site operations to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, quality, and HSE standards.
- Apply expertise in heavy civil and marine works to guide effective site delivery.
- Help to manage and coordinate CGR’s site team, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Liaise with client representatives and contractors on project matters.
- Report on progress, challenges, and resolutions.
- Maintain accurate daily site records and documentation.
- Review and monitor RAMS, ITPs, materials submittals, and other site documentation.
- Support junior staff development and knowledge transfer.
- Always uphold CGR’s values and act in the company’s best interests.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related field (preferred).
- Chartered Engineer or working toward Chartership (preferred).
- Minimum 7 years’ site experience in civil, marine, or heavy infrastructure projects.
- Strong background managing large-scale construction teams.
- Experience in UK construction standards and regulations.
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Strong grasp of health & safety.
- Strong grasp of QA practices.
- Skilled in interpreting drawings/specs and using AutoCAD, MS Office, and surveying tools.
- Experience with earthworks, piling, RC, steel structures, utilities, and marine construction.
- Familiar with document control and construction reporting systems.
- Understanding of M&E interface coordination (preferred).
- Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable.
