Key Responsibilities
- P&L Ownership & Financial Performance: Take full accountability for the UK headquarters' P&L, including revenue growth, profit margin, cost control, and cash flow management. Develop and execute annual business plans and budgets aligned with global strategic objectives, monitor financial KPIs, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective actions to ensure the achievement of revenue and profit targets.
- Strategic Planning & Business Growth: Formulate and implement long-term and short-term business strategies for the market, focusing on expanding market share, developing new customer segments, and promoting core products (motion, automation solutions) and services. Identify new business opportunities, explore partnerships, and drive innovation to maintain competitive advantage in the industrial control industry.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee all day-to-day operations of the UK and global business, including R&D, manufacturing, sales, marketing, customer service, and supply chain management. Optimize operational processes, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure the highest standards of product quality and customer satisfaction. Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Sales & Market Leadership: Lead the sales and marketing team to develop and execute sales strategies, build and maintain relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners. Personally oversee key account management and critical negotiations, drive sales pipeline growth, and achieve sales targets.
- Team Leadership & Organization Development: Build, lead, and develop a high-performance cross-functional team (including sales, R&D, operations, finance, and HR). Foster a positive and collaborative work culture, implement effective talent development and retention programs, conduct performance reviews, and ensure the team has the necessary skills and resources to achieve business objectives. Mentor and develop key team members to build a strong talent pipeline.
- Industry Insight & Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and competitive dynamics in the industrial control and automation sector. Drive product and service innovation based on market needs, and lead the adoption of new technologies to enhance product competitiveness. Participate in industry events and forums to build industry connections and gain market intelligence.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Industry Background: Minimum 10 years of senior management experience in the industrial control industry, with a deep understanding of motion control technology, industrial automation, or related fields (e.g., servo systems, machine control, industrial software). Experience with B2B industrial products and familiarity with the industrial market is essential. Prior experience working for a global industrial automation company is highly preferred.
- P&L Management Experience: Proven track record of successfully managing P&L for a business unit or company, with a demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth, improve profit margins, and control costs. Experience delivering double-digit growth or significant financial improvements is a strong advantage.
- Business & Leadership Skills: Exceptional business acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to develop and execute effective business strategies. Strong leadership skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving organizational change. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve challenging goals.
- Sales & Market Expertise: Strong sales and marketing orientation, with a proven track record of driving sales growth, expanding market share, and building key customer relationships in the industrial control sector. Experience leading sales teams and managing complex sales cycles is essential.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Automation), Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced degree is highly preferred.
