Due to the secure nature of some of our programmes, you may need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. As a Test Consultant, you'll work within a flexible hybrid model, with working arrangements varying depending on client and project requirements. As future assignments may involve different locations and ways of working, you'll need to be adaptable, with the possibility of occasional travel to CGI offices or client sites across the UK.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

As a Test Consultant at CGI, you'll play a key role in helping our clients deliver high-quality solutions across a diverse range of projects, industries and technologies. Rather than being tied to a single technology stack or delivery environment, you'll have the opportunity to apply your testing expertise to new challenges, continually broaden your capabilities and explore emerging approaches to quality engineering. You'll take ownership of testing activities, contribute to effective test strategies and identify opportunities to improve quality through automation, innovation and collaboration.

You'll work alongside developers, architects, business stakeholders and fellow testing professionals to embed quality throughout the delivery lifecycle. Whether you're developing automation frameworks, exploring AI-enabled testing techniques or advising clients on testing best practices, you'll be encouraged to bring fresh ideas and challenge established ways of working. • Plan, design and execute testing activities across different client engagements, adapting your approach to suit changing business needs, technologies and delivery environments.
• Develop, maintain and enhance automated testing solutions, using appropriate tools and frameworks to improve efficiency, reliability and quality.
• Stay curious about emerging testing technologies, including AI-assisted testing, intelligent automation and new approaches to quality engineering.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and client stakeholders to embed effective testing practices and support successful project delivery.
• Take responsibility for testing outcomes, proactively identifying risks, recommending improvements and contributing to continuous quality enhancement.
• Contribute to CGI's testing community by sharing knowledge, mentoring colleagues and learning from the experiences of others.
• Embrace opportunities to work across different projects, industries and technology stacks, developing new skills and responding positively to changing client demands.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

You'll bring a strong foundation in software testing, a genuine enthusiasm for technology and the adaptability to thrive across different client environments. We're looking for curious, proactive Test Consultants who enjoy solving problems, exploring new tools and continually expanding their expertise. While experience with automation and modern testing practices is important, your willingness to learn, embrace change and apply your skills to unfamiliar challenges will be equally valuable. You'll be comfortable taking ownership of your work while contributing to a supportive, collaborative team.

• Proven experience in software testing, with a strong understanding of testing methodologies, quality assurance principles and the software development lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools or frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress or similar, with the flexibility to learn and adopt new technologies.
• Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python or JavaScript/TypeScript, or a willingness to develop skills in additional languages.
• Ability to transition between different projects, client environments, technology stacks and testing approaches as business needs evolve.
• A genuine curiosity about emerging technologies, testing innovations and new ways of working, with a proactive approach to professional development.
• Understanding of Agile delivery, CI/CD pipelines and how testing contributes to effective software delivery.
• Ability to analyse complex challenges, identify testing risks and recommend practical, effective solutions.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders and contribute positively to multidisciplinary teams.
• An interest in AI-assisted testing, intelligent automation and the evolving role of AI in quality engineering. Practical experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Exposure to performance, security, API, cloud or other specialist testing disciplines would be beneficial, alongside a willingness to develop expertise in new areas.
• ISTQB certification or equivalent practical experience is desirable, together with a commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
