At CGI, you’ll help shape and assure the secure digital services that enable our clients to deliver critical outcomes for citizens and organisations across the UK. As a Solution and Security Architect, you’ll provide expert architectural leadership across complex transformation programmes, ensuring solutions are robust, secure, scalable and aligned to business objectives. Working at the intersection of technology, security and governance, you’ll influence key design decisions, provide independent assurance and help clients navigate risk while delivering meaningful change.

Your future duties and responsibilities: In this role, you will provide architectural leadership and security assurance across major digital and ERP transformation programmes. You will review and challenge solution designs, ensuring they meet business, technical and security requirements while aligning with industry best practice and public sector standards. Acting as a trusted adviser, you will identify risks, evaluate design decisions and provide evidence-based recommendations that support successful programme delivery.

You will work closely with programme teams, suppliers and stakeholders to assess solution architectures, security controls and implementation approaches. Through participation in governance forums and design authorities, you will help ensure solutions remain secure, resilient and compliant throughout the delivery lifecycle. This role offers the opportunity to influence strategic technology decisions while supporting clients in delivering complex transformation programmes with confidence.

Key responsibilities:

  • Review & Assure solution and security architectures across complex transformation programmes
  • Challenge & Influence supplier designs using evidence-based recommendations and best practice
  • Assess & Mitigate architectural, security and delivery risks
  • Design & Advise on secure, scalable and compliant technology solutions
  • Evaluate & Govern identity and access management approaches, including role-based access controls
  • Support & Strengthen security architecture reviews, controls and assurance activities
  • Document & Maintain architectural decisions, design reviews and governance outcomes
  • Collaborate & Engage with programme teams, suppliers and client stakeholders
  • Contribute & Guide design authority discussions and architectural governance processes
  • Drive & Improve security, compliance and architectural standards across programmes

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

To succeed in this role, you will bring significant experience as a Solution Architect, Security Architect, or a combined architecture professional working on large-scale digital transformation programmes. You will have strong design assurance capabilities, a solid understanding of security architecture principles and experience working within regulated or public sector environments. The ability to communicate effectively, challenge constructively and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations will be essential.

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • Significant experience as a Solution Architect, Security Architect or similar senior architecture role
  • Proven delivery experience across large digital transformation and ERP programmes
  • Experience working within regulated, government or public sector environments
  • Experience providing independent supplier or third-party assurance
  • Strong understanding of solution architecture principles, design methods and non-functional requirements
  • Knowledge of identity and access management, including role-based access controls
  • Strong understanding of cyber security architecture, controls and security best practices
  • Knowledge of UK public sector security, governance and data protection requirements
  • Proven ability to conduct architecture reviews and provide design assurance
  • Experience identifying, documenting and mitigating technical and security risks
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to challenge suppliers and programme teams constructively using evidence-based approaches

Desirable qualifications and experience:

  • Knowledge of ERP architectures and ERP delivery methodologies
  • Experience overseeing or governing penetration testing activities
  • Familiarity with NCSC guidance and public sector security frameworks
  • Experience operating within formal architecture governance or design authority structures
