The role is suitable for someone with experience as a software engineer who will help define, guide and assure the delivery of integrated solutions within a cross‑functional team. The position includes opportunities for learning and development and a culture of innovation, collaboration and ownership.
Due to security requirements, this role is open to sole UK nationals (not dual nationals and not on a visa) who are eligible for a developed security clearance. You must hold an SC clearance or be willing to obtain one. The role is partly office-based; on-site attendance is required in Gloucester (or Manchester) due to secure access to systems.
Your future duties
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team for a cloud-based big data project. This role will focus on the design, development and delivery of software implementations, configuration of software improvements, maintaining deployment environments, and supporting changes to live systems when needed. The languages used include Java, Python, JavaScript (TypeScript), Vue, Bash, Jenkins, Ansible, Cucumber, NiFi, Go, AWS, GitLab, ELK stack, Terraform, Grafana, and SonarQube.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and deliver software implementations for a cloud-based big data project.
- Configure software improvements and maintain deployment environments.
- Support changes to live systems when required.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team and client stakeholders to define, guide and assure delivery.
Qualifications
- Experience with the technologies listed above or equivalent experience in similar stacks.
- Positive problem-solving attitude and adaptability to client problems.
Requirements
- UK National only (sole national or equivalent), eligible for HLC, and holding or willing to obtain an SC clearance.
- Onsite attendance required in Gloucester (or Manchester) with some office or home-based work possible.
