At CGI, you'll play a key role in transforming how critical services are monitored, measured, and continuously improved. As a Performance Analyst, you'll use data-driven insights to enhance service resilience, optimise performance, and help deliver outstanding outcomes for our clients. Working alongside talented colleagues in a collaborative environment, you'll have the opportunity to influence strategic decisions, solve complex challenges, and drive meaningful innovation through modern observability and automation practices. Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Help shape the performance and operational excellence of complex, business-critical services by turning data into actionable insight.
  • Analyse application, infrastructure and user experience metrics to identify trends, uncover root causes, and recommend improvements that enhance reliability, resilience and customer outcomes.
  • Work closely with engineering, service management and client stakeholders, using modern observability platforms and automation to support informed decision-making and continual service improvement.
  • Influence how services evolve by developing meaningful performance measures, improving reporting capabilities and driving a proactive, evidence-based approach to operational management.
  • Identify risks earlier, reduce recurring issues and maximise the value of observability and AIOps capabilities across the service.

Key responsibilities:

  • Monitor & Analyse application, infrastructure and service performance using Grafana, Kibana, AIOps Nova and related observability platforms.
  • Develop & Measure KPIs, SLIs and operational performance frameworks aligned to business and client objectives.
  • Investigate & Resolve incidents by performing detailed root cause analysis using telemetry, logs and operational data.
  • Automate & Optimise reporting and analytical processes using Python, SQL and reusable automation solutions.
  • Produce & Present insightful dashboards, reports and recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Identify & Improve service trends, performance bottlenecks and opportunities to enhance resilience and customer experience.
  • Collaborate & Influence engineering and service teams to validate improvements and measure their effectiveness.
  • Support & Forecast capacity planning and long-term service optimisation through trend analysis and performance modelling.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement by promoting data-driven decision making and evolving observability best practices.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

To succeed in this role, you'll have experience analysing the performance of complex IT services and translating operational data into meaningful business insights. You'll be comfortable working with observability platforms, automation tools and large datasets, while communicating confidently with both technical and business stakeholders. A passion for continual service improvement, strong analytical thinking and a collaborative approach will enable you to make a significant impact.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience analysing application, service or operational performance within complex IT environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with Grafana, Kibana or similar observability platforms.
  • Proficiency in Python for automation, scripting and data analysis.
  • Experience using SQL and data interrogation techniques.
  • Understanding of application architectures, APIs, cloud platforms and distributed systems.
  • Experience defining and reporting against KPIs, SLIs and service performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical insights to diverse audiences.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent professional experience.

Desirable:

  • Experience with AIOps Nova or other AIOps platforms.
  • Knowledge of OpenTelemetry and modern observability frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
  • Experience working within Government, regulated or enterprise environments.
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • AWS, Azure, Python, Data Analytics or Observability-related certifications.
