Role Overview:
CGI seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to deliver cutting-edge 5G/SatComs projects, including integrating a 5G private network and SatComs links from major operators. This hybrid role is based in Leatherhead, with occasional travel to Didcot, Oxfordshire.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain build and design documentation
- Implement infrastructure solutions
- Lead the infrastructure team, managing and developing staff
- Test and validate solutions
- Research and apply new COTS solutions
Qualifications:
Essential:
- VMware/Hyper-V for VM environments
- Linux administration
- Automation and scripting (e.g., Ansible)
- Willingness to learn new technologies
- Networking knowledge (UDP/TCP/IP, IPv4, switching, routing)
Desirable:
- Designing bespoke infrastructure solutions
- Experience with 5G/Telecoms
- Satellite communications networks
- NMS Zabbix/Grafana
- Firewall management (Fortinet, PFSense, Juniper), VPNs
