As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will help build resilient cloud and on-premise environments that enable innovation and operational excellence. Working with clients, partners and expert teams, you will take ownership of complex infrastructure challenges, contribute creative solutions, and grow your career within a collaborative and supportive environment.
The Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit in CGI is a true IT Systems Integrator. We work, build, and operate bespoke, technically complex, mission-critical systems which help our clients keep us all safe and secure. We bring innovation to our clients using proven and emerging technologies, agile delivery processes and our deep expertise across the breadth of space, defence, intelligence, aerospace and maritime, all underpinned by our end-to-end cyber capability. We work collaboratively with global technology companies, cutting edge SMEs and academia to deliver the optimal solution for each client.
Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This position will be based on site near Gloucester or in Central London 5 days a week.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Design, build and support secure infrastructure solutions across cloud and on-premise environments, ensuring systems meet performance, security and availability requirements.
- Take ownership of infrastructure across compute, storage and networking, supporting both project delivery and operational activities within complex, secure environments.
- Deliver reliable and scalable solutions, applying innovative approaches to infrastructure engineering while being supported by a collaborative and expert-led culture that encourages continuous improvement.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- Strong experience in infrastructure engineering within enterprise or secure environments, with the ability to support both build and operational activities.
- A solid understanding of cloud or virtualised platforms and systems administration is essential.
- Proven experience in infrastructure engineering.
- Strong systems administration skills within enterprise environments.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure or virtualised environments.
- Experience with virtualisation technologies.
- Proven ability in troubleshooting and incident resolution.
- Exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
- Experience with container technologies and image management (desirable).
- Knowledge of automation, scripting or secure environments (advantageous).
