Due to the secure nature of some of our programmes, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position with some onsite attendance at one of our Scottish Offices.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

In this role, you will lead and develop a growing PMO function, shaping it into a strategic, value-driven capability that supports complex portfolios and programmes. You will take ownership of defining PMO strategy, embedding governance frameworks, and driving a shift toward outcome-focused delivery, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and investment objectives. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will provide insight-led decision support, enabling transparency, accountability, and effective portfolio management.
You will also lead a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement, innovation, and capability development. With strong support around you, you will be empowered to evolve delivery practices, introduce data-driven insights, and enhance performance across governance, financial management, and transformation initiatives.
• Lead & Evolve PMO Teams, frameworks, and maturity roadmap
• Oversee & Optimise complex portfolios, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives
• Govern & Assure delivery through robust yet agile frameworks and controls
• Drive & Deliver data-led insights, reporting, and performance management
• Manage & Control financials, resources, and benefits realisation
• Influence & Advise senior stakeholders and executive leadership
• Help build & Develop high-performing PMO teams and delivery capability
• Transform & Improve delivery practices, tools, and ways of working

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

You will bring extensive experience leading PMO functions within complex environments, with a strong track record of driving transformation, governance excellence, and value-based delivery. You should be confident influencing senior stakeholders, shaping strategy, and leveraging data to inform decision-making, alongside a collaborative and forward-thinking approach to leadership.
• Experience in PMO lead or Team Lead role
• Strong expertise across portfolio, programme, and project management
• Deep understanding of governance, risk, and financial management
• Experience influencing senior and executive stakeholders
• Strong data-driven reporting and performance management capability
• Experience driving organisational change and continuous improvement
• Relevant certifications (P3O, MSP, PRINCE2, Agile) (desirable)
• Experience with enterprise PMO tools and large-scale transformation (desirable)
