Position Description

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This position is available in Gloucester, London, and Manchester.


Your future duties and responsibilities

In this role, you will design, implement, and optimise infrastructure solutions that underpin some of the UK's most important systems. You will take ownership of automating processes, ensuring system reliability, and contributing to continuous delivery pipelines. Working closely with developers and testers, you will troubleshoot issues, validate configurations, and enhance deployment workflows.
You will also help assure quality across applications and infrastructure, using Infrastructure as Code practices to deliver scalable, secure environments. Collaboration is central to this role, and you will participate in agile ceremonies to plan and prioritise work, ensuring solutions are delivered effectively and on time.
Key responsibilities include:
•Build & Automate: Design and maintain infrastructure systems using DevOps best practices.
•Enhance & Secure: Implement Infrastructure as Code and ensure environments meet security standards.
•Troubleshoot & Resolve: Collaborate with teams to identify and fix technical issues efficiently.
•Assure & Deliver: Support quality assurance and deployment into Kubernetes and Puppet environments.
•Collaborate & Adapt: Participate in agile processes to prioritise and deliver high-impact solutions.


Required qualifications to be successful in this role

To succeed in this role, you should bring proven experience with infrastructure automation, container orchestration, and DevOps practices. Strong collaboration skills and a willingness to learn and apply new technologies will ensure success.
You should have experience in some of the below:
•Kubernetes, Ansible
•Linux, Terraform, Docker
•IAC (Infrastructure as Code), CI/CD Pipelines, Openshift
Additional desirable skills include:
•Programming/Development: Java, Go
•Scripting: Python, Bash
•Source control tools: Git, SVN
