Candidate profile:
In this senior role, you’ll act as the primary solution owner for presales engagements within CGI’s Global Technology Operations business unit. You’ll lead multi-domain solution teams across infrastructure, service management, and cloud disciplines—owning the design, cost model, and technical integrity of the solution. As the infrastructure presales lead, you’ll define innovative, commercially robust proposals that maximise value for both CGI and our clients. You’ll work across diverse domains, from Service Desk and ITSM tooling to Cloud, Network, and Enterprise Services, shaping holistic, future-ready architectures. You’ll combine strategic vision with delivery insight, ensuring every solution is aligned to business goals, governance frameworks, and modern ‘as-a-service’ and DevOps ways of working.
- Lead & Architect: Serve as the primary solution architect and owner for GTO presales engagements, leading teams of subject matter experts across infrastructure domains.
- Design & Deliver: Develop end-to-end service architectures spanning Service Desk, ITSM, Digital Workplace, Cloud, Network, and Security operations.
- Collaborate & Influence: Work closely with bid teams, delivery, and commercial functions to design competitive, compliant, and deliverable solutions.
- Analyse & Model: Own all solution costing, risk assessment, contingency, pricing, and margin discussions, ensuring commercial viability.
- Present & Engage: Lead client dialogues, presentations, and defences, articulating the technical and business value of CGI’s solutions.
- Govern & Guide: Oversee all GTO deliverables—written responses, bid collateral, and architectural documentation—while mentoring junior architects and supporting professional growth across the team.
- Innovate & Evolve: Champion cloud-native, sovereign, and automation-led design approaches that drive transformation and resilience.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
You’ll bring extensive experience as a pre-sales or solution lead within complex, enterprise-scale environments, with strong expertise across infrastructure and IT service management domains. You’ll combine commercial acumen with architectural excellence and have a track record of leading virtual teams through the full bid lifecycle.
Essential:
- Proven experience as a pre-sales solution architect or solution owner within infrastructure or managed services.
- Deep technical understanding across multiple domains: Service Desk, ITSM, Cloud (Private/Public/Hybrid), Digital Workplace, Network, Security, and Enterprise Services.
- Strong commercial and financial awareness—owning costs, risk, pricing, and margin considerations.
- Excellent written communication, proposal writing, and presentation skills.
- Experience working in complex bid environments, collaborating across virtual teams.
- Strong planning, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Broad appreciation of architectural standards, design principles, and governance frameworks.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of cloud-native and ‘as-a-service’ models, automation, and AI integration.
