As a Senior Programme Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-value technology solutions that drive operational excellence, strengthen business performance, and support critical services. Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a role where you will need to work in Aberdeen at least 3 days a week at client/CGI offices.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, governance and successful delivery of complex IT integration and transformation programmes for a major energy client.
- Operate within a structured stage-gate governance framework and apply Agile practices where appropriate.
- Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, technical teams and delivery partners.
- Oversee programme governance, manage risks, budgets and dependencies.
- Ensure smooth transitions into production within HSE-critical environments.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by embedding best practice and driving collaboration across diverse teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead & Deliver complex IT integration and transformation programmes across multiple workstreams.
- Own & Govern integrated programme plans, budgets, RAID logs, dependencies and executive reporting.
- Drive Governance through structured stage-gate reviews, ensuring effective decision-making and delivery control.
- Coordinate & Collaborate with client leadership, technical teams, suppliers and business stakeholders.
- Manage & Mitigate programme risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies to maintain delivery momentum.
- Support & Influence governance forums, steering committees and senior stakeholder engagement.
- Ensure & Protect alignment of scope, schedule, cost and quality against agreed programme objectives.
- Lead & Transition successful cutover, service readiness, go-live and hypercare activities.
- Embed & Improve CGI delivery standards, metrics, lessons learned and continuous improvement practices.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- Extensive programme management experience delivering medium-to-large IT transformation initiatives within the oil and gas sector or similarly regulated environments.
- Accomplished leader with strong governance expertise, excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable leading complex programmes involving multiple suppliers while maintaining a strong focus on quality, risk management and successful business outcomes.
Essential qualifications:
- PRINCE2 Practitioner or PMP certification or another industry recognised Project/Programme Management qualification.
- Extensive experience delivering complex IT integration and transformation programmes.
- Strong expertise in programme governance, stage-gate delivery and RAID management.
- Proven ability to manage programme budgets, schedules and multi-vendor delivery teams.
- Extensive experience within the oil and gas industry.
- Ability to work from the Aberdeen client site approximately three days per week.
Desirable qualifications:
- Agile or Scrum certification.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- Experience delivering ERP programmes.
- Background in energy, utilities or other asset-intensive, safety-critical industries.
- Experience with business process mapping and transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with SAP HANA Cloud Platform (HCP).
- Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
